About Ann Warner
I shoot many subjects: landscapes, architecture, travel, doors and nature. Figures are rarely seen in my photographs. I prefer to capture a place the way it looks when no one is around, whether it is a landscape in Michigan or New Mexico, a hilltop town in Italy or France, or a neighborhood within a city, like Trastevere, the oldest section of Rome, or Montmartre, in Paris. There is the occasional exception where I include people, such as an elderly man in Ravello, Italy resting alone in the sun. The solitude and calm that come with shooting sunrises, sunsets and moonrises make those subjects particularly pleasurable to shoot. I continue to try new methods and subjects - abstracts, composites, more black and white. My work was in the Detroit Artists Market 2010 Art for the Holidays show and is sold at State of the Art in Ferndale, MI. I have done three art fairs: the 2008 and 2010 Ferndale DIY Street Art Fairs and the 2010 Southeast Oakland Arts & Crafts Fair. Four of my photographs of Italy grace the walls of Maria's Fine Italian Restaurant in Ferndale. My work has been published in the Observer Eccentric and Ferndale Friends Newspapers and on ferndale115.com, and I am now selling my work at the Rust Belt Market in Ferndale. My work is also in the private collections of many people.
